July 2011

Due to the generosity and hard work of our supporters, African Steps finished first in the Global Giving Challenge. We raised nearly £12,000 and secured the additional bonuses from Global Giving. We estimate that together with Gift Aid, the total raised in the four week challenge will be £15,250. This really is a fantastic achievement and reflects the belief that we really can change the future for the people of Likoma and that there will come a time soon when the constant deaths from TB will stop.

The result of the challenge means that we are over half way to our target fundraising goal of £27,000. The STOP DEATHS FROM TB ON LIKOMA ISLAND project page will remain on Global Giving and we will continue to fundraise until we have met our target.  If you would like to donate to this project please visit our page at http://www.globalgiving.co.uk/pr/8300/proj8241a.html
